Statement on the passing of Roger Williams University President Dr. Donald Farish


PROVIDENCE, RI -- Rhode Island’s higher education community is deeply saddened by the death of our colleague Dr. Donald Farish, President of Roger Williams University.

“Rhode Island is fortunate to have had a transformational leader like Dr. Farish at the helm of Roger Williams University,” said Tim DelGiudice, Chair of the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education. “Dr. Farish led the University through a period of unprecedented growth of student opportunity. His leadership and his unwavering dedication to students will be missed.”

“Dr. Farish’s deep commitment to educational equity was evident throughout his distinguished career in higher education,” said Brenda Dann-Messier, Rhode Island Commissioner of Postsecondary Education. “Our thoughts are with Dr. Farish’s family, friends, and Roger Williams University colleagues.”
